To come out from the curse Chandran prayed. Lord Shiva saved him and asked him to offer poojas to Lord Kailasanathar and ambal Brihannayaki at Thingalur and he was given the power of blessing who are affected by Chandra Dosham.
Here Chandran is Positioned just opposite to Kailasanathar.Mondays are special days for Chandran.During the full moon day Chandran is more powerful. Raw Rice pudding mixed with jaggery,White flower and white cloth Offering made to Lord chandran here.
Tamil month of Panguni (March – April) on the full moon day (Pournami),the day before and on the succeeding day (3 days), the rays of the rising moon will fall on Lord Siva .This rare phenomenon occurs only in Thingalur and not anywhere else.
